Baymonte Christian Preschool is run by a highly qualified professional team who are committed to Jesus Christ and to children. They meet all of the State of California requirements for education and experience. They are committed to helping every child reach his/her God-given potential in a caring, loving environment. The child to teacher ratio is determined by the age and personality of each classroom. Ratios never exceed state requirements; every staff member in the preschool meets state requirements as a fully qualified teacher.
Teachers from both campuses meet regularly to lesson plan together. They also attend staff meetings and conferences together. Our goal is to stay abreast of current trends and practices in early education.
Administration Each campus has a site director to oversee the day to day operation of the preschool. State requirements are met and exceeded by both of our directors. Teri Esparza, director of Preschool Too has served our school for twenty years; she has been the site director since it opened in 2002. Lisa Patterson has been involved with Baymonte for ten years. She obtained her final early education degree in 2005 and became the site director at the main campus in 2006. Both directors are actively involved in the classroom at their campus and serve in teacher training opportunities for ACSI conferences. They lead by example and serve staff, parents and students tirelessly. Our directors work cooperatively to insure consistency and unity between both schools.
Teaching Staff Each year we marvel at the longevity of our staff. Laura Sondreal, head teacher for the class for four year olds has taught for us for fifteen years. She is actually a graduate of Baymonte herself. Nikki Kim, the teacher for three year olds at the main campus gave her life to the Lord at Baymonte’s Women’s Bible study and joined our staff shortly afterwards. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in child development from Cal State Hayward and has taught for us for five years. Nancy Hunter was our first hire at Preschool Too. All three of her children attended our preschool; we were thrilled when she joined our staff.
Of the ten employees of the preschool, four are well on their way to be director qualified. Roberta Handley already possesses her four year degree and continues to press forward in her early education classes. Heather Lemmon has moved past her Early Ed. Degree for continued education in areas of serving children with special needs. Brooke Hamilton also holds a four year degree from the University of California in Santa Cruz. She is proud to serve our children in the late afternoon at the main campus.
We truly value the quality personnel God has sent to us; each one is a tremendous contributor to the success of our program.
